About Chicago
Chicago is the largest city in Illinois and the third-largest in the United States. The 1909 Plan of Chicago by Daniel Burnham and Edward Bennett shaped its lakefront parks. Today Chicago is known for Millennium Park's Cloud Gate sculpture, the Willis Tower, the Chicago River, deep-dish pizza and its sports teams, from the Cubs to the Bulls.
Navy Pier
Navy Pier opened in 1916 as the Municipal Pier, extending more than half a mile into Lake Michigan. It was later renamed to honor Navy veterans of World War I and now holds shops, theaters and the Centennial Wheel.
